Thailand always seemed more stable to me...Plus they are used to westerners visiting as tourists more often.

If i were you, and i'm not, i'd stay the F*$@ out of Thailand unless you want to get killed, unless you plan on molesting children or want to be looked at as one, why go to thailand? why not amsterdam? you can have just as much of a good time without all the risk of Thailand.

If your retired or have a strady income stream of $'s the Philippines is a great place to live. Friendly english speaking natives and low cost of living. If you need to find a job or support yourself the Philippines is not for you. High unemployment and low wages.
